Visitors can explore a diverse collection of plants and seasonal blooms in the gardens as they walk along the paths that wind through the lush landscape. The estate also hosts a range of events throughout the year, including art exhibits, seasonal festivals like the Cheekwood Harvest and Holiday Lights, and educational programs.

For active-duty military members and retirees, Cheekwood graciously offers 50% off admission for up to five people.

4. Adventure Science Center

The Adventure Science Center, just minutes from downtown Nashville, captivates visitors of all ages with interactive exhibits. One of its main attractions is the Sudekum Planetarium, where visitors can experience immersive shows on a full-dome screen that bring the cosmos to life. 

Children especially love the “BodyQuest” exhibit, where they can interactively learn about the human body, health, and fitness through hands-on displays. And for adults, the center offers a fun way to rekindle curiosity, hosting events like the Science of Beer and the Way Late Play Date series alongside seasonal activities. With rotating exhibits that keep the experience fresh, there’s always something new to discover. 

Veterans and their families receive discounted admission to the center. Active duty, retired, or reserved military individuals receive $2 off planetarium tickets for themselves and their guests.

5. Centennial Park and Parthenon

Centennial Park, a beautiful green space in the heart of Nashville, is perfect for enjoying a day outdoors. Nestled within the park is the Parthenon, an impressive full-scale replica of the ancient Greek temple. Inside, it houses an art museum featuring exhibits from both classical history and Nashville’s unique cultural heritage.
